The Golden Network
Golden Thread is one collaborative digital agency built as a network: specialists across six cities, each with global experience in a different niche, each a business development person first, and each pulled in for the part they are best at. It is coordinated from Dumfries by one person, so however many hands are on a build, nothing gets crossed and one person stays your point of contact. Global expertise at affordable prices.
One thread holds it all together
A website is one part of a much bigger thing. It starts before the site — with a name, a mark, a plan and a way of being seen — and it carries on long after it launches: the systems it connects to, the hands that keep it running, and the work of getting found and booked. Most places buy those in pieces, from suppliers who don’t answer for each other. We build the whole of it as one, and you can join the thread at any point along it.
Every account is opened in your name on the day it is created. The domain, the email, the bookings, the numbers — all yours from the start. We hold the work, not the keys.
Three levels of build, and what changes between them
The same care goes into all three. What changes is how much the site has to do — how much it handles, how much it moves, and how far it goes to tell your story.
- Everything a first-time visitor needs, nothing they don’t
- Says it once, and says it clearly
- Fast on any connection
- Handles the routine work inside your site, and saves you the hours
- Requests and orders land where they should, and confirm
- Plugs into the tools that already run the business
- A site people remember, and mention to other people
- Drawn for you — no templates, no stock images
- Tells the whole story, start to finish
Whichever you choose: written for the phone first · your own words and your own content wherever possible, traceable to something you actually said · readable to a machine, with the schema and sitemap Google needs.
Three levels of care, and how they’re different
Every plan is watched, and every fault is ours to notice before it costs you anything. What changes between the three is how closely, how fast it gets put right, and how much is done to keep you found.
- Domain registered and renewed
- Hosting, SSL, backups, DDoS
Everything in Essential, plus:
- Hardened headers and form spam filtering
- Ranking better over time — structured data, local listings and Business Profile maintained month to month
- Kept fast — images, page speed and Core Web Vitals
Everything in Advanced, plus:
- Extensive SEO — found wherever people search now, including AI chatbots and assistants
- Visitor analytics and monthly reports
- A quarterly audit and a growth call
- Multi-domain web routing, so misspellings and old URLs still land
- Seasonal content swap, three times a year
Every plan is monitored — once a day, every four hours, or every sixty seconds. However it’s spotted, the alert comes straight to us and work starts the moment it does. The times above are the outside limit, not the target.
* Unlimited edits within reason and original scope. Extras will be quoted per hour.
We do the work. You keep the keys.
Most businesses find out years later that their domain is registered to whoever built the site, their email runs through an account they cannot get into, and nobody can find the login for the booking system — usually at the worst moment, when they want to change something and the person who set it up has stopped answering.
We do it the other way round. Every account is opened in your name, and you are told where it lives and how to get into it. We look after them day to day, but the logins are yours from the start. Renewals are covered while you are with us, so nothing expires and nothing lands on you unexpectedly. The accounts remain in your name throughout, and if you leave, thirty days’ notice ends the billing.
Everyone who works under the Golden Thread name was chosen for how they work, not only for what they can do. Ethics, professionalism and doing the job properly come before the invoice, and that does not change with the size of the client — whether it is a one-person business, a growing one, or a large organisation. You are told what a job really needs, what it will really cost, and when a thing is not worth doing at all.
Where it starts
Tell us roughly what you are after and when suits you. The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
